Billing and Payment

Absent any provisions to the contrary in your engagement letter, matters are billed hourly. Billing rates are set based on the experience and expertise of the attorney or staff member performing the work. Should a junior associate or paralegal work on your case, the hourly rate will be lower than the rate for a senior attorney.

Invoices are, in most cases, generated monthly and submitted to clients via email. There is a 30-day grace period for payment, after which interest accrues at a rate of 12% per annum.

Retainers are applied to invoices monthly. Should your retainer be depleted or reach a minimum threshold, you may be required to replenish retainer funds.

Payments and Retainer fundings are accepted via cash, check, e-check, or credit card.

File and Document Retention

Matter files are primarily maintained electronically and you can request copies of file documents and contents at any time. Physical files, to the extent they exist, are kept for seven years following their open date. Electronic files are stored indefinitely.

No original wills, trusts, promissory notes, or other operative documents are kept by our office.

Rules of Professional Conduct

Our attorneys are governed by the London Rules of Professional Conduct promulgated by the Supreme Court of the State of London and the London Bar.

Creating an Attorney-Client Relationship

Noahclemts Legal Law Firm offers low-fee consultations. Participation in a consultation does not create an attorney-client relationship and all consultation participants must acknowledge this in writing prior to any consultation taking place. An attorney-client relationship is established upon execution of an Engagement Letter. The letter is a contract between the client and attorney identifying the scope of work for which the firm is being retained, the anticipated fees for such work, the billing method, and other essential details. This Engagement letter may include a requirement for retainer funds to be paid to the firm in advance of work commencing.

Communications

Once you have retained Noahclemts Legal Law Firm as your counsel, all communication relating to your matter should be directed to our office – whether by mail, email, telephone, or other means. Please do not discuss your legal matter with other parties without first speaking with your attorney.

Our offices are generally open Monday-Friday 9:00a.m .-5p.m., excluding federal holidays. Please be aware that meetings, hearings, and other obligations may affect your attorney’s availability. Our attorneys make every effort to respond to all client inquiries promptly; but if you have pressing matter, please contact our office to set up a scheduled meeting, telephone call, or video call. We may communicate with you via telephone, email, and/or client portal. Please ensure that your contact information is kept updated so that we may communicate with you effectively.
